How is your morning going?
I was reading a report this morning, stating that 60% of women are experiencing job loss during this crisis. By the late '80s to early '90s, the number of women who stayed home and cooked decreased drastically in North American societies. Fast forward to present day, as women we've focused so much on our education and our careers, that knowing how to make a simple meal as become obsolete.
Cooking some of our meals will benefit our monthly budget immensely. We will not become Micheline star chefs overnight, but we can start practicing by trying simple recipes. What other options do we have? Ladies, we cannot live by cereal alone.
If this virus is not a wake-up call to save money, I do not know what it is. Eating out is no longer an option. We must learn to cook again. It is not going to taste the best on your first shot, but it will get better over time. Begin by following simple recipes. Once you have them down pat, then you can start adding new spices to your meals. If it is not eatable, add barbecue sauce. That’s what I do.
Use google to find simple meal ideas online, that lets you be a little creative but not too much. You do not want to poison anyone. Not even your man, who is annoying the hell out of you right now.
By cooking some of your meals, and not spending on Skip the Dishes, Uber Eats, or McDonald's you will begin to save money. Yes, I know their fries are the booms. And you will also start losing weight. If that doesn’t convince you, then I don’t know what will.
